Nå har lillejenta blitt 20 mnd og såpass stor at hun kan spise selv uten for mye søl. Stekt ris blir best med rester av ris. Ny forskning viser at småbarn lærer å like ulik mat i helt bestemte perioder i utviklingen. &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Helle Schiørbeck, spesialpsykolog, Senter for barn med spisevansker, ved Rikshospitalet/Universitetet i Oslo sier: "Det vi nå vet er at det er et vindu, eller en sensitiv periode for å lære å like varierte smaker, når barnet er mellom 4 til 7-8 måneder. Vi prøver å få det til å passe med frokost, lunsj og middag for store og små, og da spiser hun ofte sin mat og vi vår, evt så får hun av vår middag hvis det passer. Hun er veldig nysgjerrig på hva vi spiser, og dersom hun viser interesse for å smake på vår mat så får hun det. Det er ikke snakk om mengder, men kanskje en teskje dyppet i sausen. Organene er i utvikling og kan ikke håndtere salt i store mengder. Så lenge babyens organer og fordøyelsessystem er under utvikling er det viktig å ikke tilsette salt i babymaten. Man skal også være forsiktig med å gi babyer vanlig "voksenmat", men heller gi mat beregnet på babyer. Morsmelkerstatning inneholder også tilsvarende mengde med salt. Symptomer på dehydrering er i første omgang tørre bleier og innsunket fontanelle. Noen begynner allerede ved 4 mnd, men anbefalingen er å fullamme til barnet er 6 mnd. Hvis du begynner med introduksjon av mat fra 4 mnd, så kan det være greit å begynne med en mild grøt eller grønnsaksmos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I løpet av de første ukene bør du introdusere en matsort av gangen, slik at du kan finne ut hvordan barnet ditt reagerer på hver enkelt matsort. Når du ser at dette går greit, kan du begynne å blande sammen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Spedbarn er ofte glad i puré av rotgrønnsaker, da de er søte og milde på smaken. En fin mos av epler og pærer er også et godt alternativ til de minste. Men smak på frukten før du koker den, pass på at frukten er moden og søt. Maten bør oppbevares i fryser ved -18 grader C eller lavere. Når maten er tint skal den ikke fryses igjen. &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Følgende matvarer egner seg ikke til frysing:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;banan&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;avokado&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;melon&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;aubergine&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;div&gt;Både puréer og fruktmoser egner seg godt til frysing. La puréen/mosen kjøles ned til romtemperatur, før du har den over i en isbitform. Sett formen i fryseren. Når puréen/mosen er gjennomfrossen kan du ta bitene over i en ziplockpose. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Når du skal forberede den fryste maten, koker du så mye du trenger i en liten kaserolle eller varmer de i mikroen. Du kan også varme maten i vannbad når den er tint. Ha risen over i en liten gryte og dekk med vann. Kok opp, rør godt og la risen stå og trekke i 25 minutter på lav varme. Rør av og til, og pass på at risen ikke setter seg fast i bunnen. Fyll på med vann underveis om nødvendig!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Ha risen i foodprosessor, og tilsett mme. Kjør den til en glatt puré. Juster evt. med mme  om du ønsker en tynnere eller tykkere grøt.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Grøten er godt egnet til frysing. Jeg har lest at man ikke skal bruke maizenna i babygrøt, men maismel. Noen barn har behov for fast føde før 6 måneder, men det anbefales ikke å begynne før 4 måneder.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Tegn på at barnet trenger tilleggskost før 6 måneder er:&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;utilstrekkelig vektøkning&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;at barnet virker sultent etter hyppige brystmåltider&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;barnet viser tydelig interesse for annen mat&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;div&gt;Introduksjon av fast føde bør skje mens barnet fortsatt ammes. Man bør kun introdusere én matvare av gangen, slik at man kan følge med på om barnet reagerer på matvaren. Gi en smaksprøve av denne matvaren i 3-4 dager, før ny matvare introduseres.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Det er ingen regel for hva man begynner med. Noen velger tynn grøt av f.eks. mais eller ris.
